Internet Marketing for Doctors.....by Doctors.

Two factor authentication (2FA) is not a marketing tool and won't get your website ranked, but it will keep your website safe from intruders and your other digital accounts safe as well.  2FA involves the user to have or know 2 of 3 unique identifiers that only the user can know, they are: 

  1. Something you know
  2. Something you have
  3. Something you are

A password, for example, is something you know.  Used by itself, a password is only 1 step verification.  Two factor authentication requires a second piece of information.

HTTPS means your website is safe.  Converting your website to HTTPS means your site can be trusted, your visitors' information is safe and the content on your site is legitimate.  HTTPS requires obtaining an SSL certificate for you site.  The SSL is website specific, can not be transferred and must be purchased yearly.  Regardless if you sell goods online, everyone needs an SSL - it has been "required" for SEO rankings and soon, sites without an SSL will be flagged as an "Unsecure Site."

A few years ago, Geisinger Medical Center needed fill staff physician slots.  They chose the typical route of using direct mail to advertise their openings.  Their marketing stretegist convinced them to simultaneously try to market the openings on the Geisinger FaceBook page.  This is a very clean case study where conventional direct mail is compared to FB.  The results are very provoking.

Your website does not need to outrank the entire world.  To be successful, your website needs only to outrank your competition in the communities and areas that you serve.  Focus on ranking in the zip codes of those areas.  Google search your competitors - similar practices who also have an active web presence - you'll be surprised how few competitors you may actually have!

Relevant content is content which is meaningful, interesting or memorable on the web.  Content that is not relevant is spam.  Whether on your website or social media platform, your published content has to provide value for it to be consumed.  Relevant content will be opened, read, remembered... and shared.   If your content is meaningless, boring and not relevant...so are you.  Don't spam your audience with non-relevant content.
